Afternoon. How is your Friday going? My last couple of weeks have been even madder than usual. One of the quite exciting things that happened was that I had a lovely photographer lady come to my house to shoot a story for one of my favourite magazines (which must for now remain nameless). It still amazes me that anybody should know who I am enough to want to write a story about me, but I am thrilled to have the chance to be part of a publication which I already read, so agreeing to take part was a no-brainer. I was ridiculously nervous because I've never done anything like that before, but it wasn't scary at all once we got going and hopefully the results will be lovely. Luckily I have managed to have a bit of a tidy up at Delilah Towers since the bomb-site of the summer (just don't look in any of the cupboards...) so it doesn't look too shabby. I will try and take a few pictures when I get a minute to show you. I'm not sure when the story will be out but I shall of course let you know more as soon as I do.
Anyway, the main reason I stopped by is to let you know that I will be doing a demo at The Knitting & Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace next Saturday 12th October so I hope I might get to meet some of you there. Are any of you already going? I will be making the Gigantic Stag Pinboard Hoop (above) from my book so if you would like to come and see how it's done or just pop over for a chat I would really love that. All free of course. It will be at 2.30pm at the Anova Books stand, number TGK15. There are always about a bazillion things to see at the show so I'm really looking forward to having a look around in the morning too.
I think there might still be some spaces left on my workshop at The Village Haberdashery the next day too, and I just found out that you can get a discount if you follow this link to Annie's blog, so if you would like to come and make something lovely with me and pick up a splendiferous goody bag while you're at it then it's well worth a look.
Oh, and I have spent this week re-stocking the shop so for those of you who have been waiting, all of the kits and book bundles are now available again. I'm about to start work on another big project that will keep me out of mischief until after Christmas so I may not get the chance to do a whole lot more re-stocking between now and then. I will also be having quite a big re-shuffle of kits etc. in the New Year to keep things interesting (I have been making some of the current range for 5 years now, so I think it is definitely time for a change). So if you have your heart set on any of the older kits you might want to get them sooner rather than later as they might not be available again. I do have a couple more new things almost ready to show you before I settle down to the new project though. Possible sneaky peeks coming next week...
